Online selling just keeps growing

We know we don’t tell fibs, however its always nice to have statistics to back up our claims; so here’s another one: According to NAB’s Online Retail Sales Index, online sales have again increased a further 26% when looking an year-on-year growth.

For the 12 months ending February 2012, Australia’s total online spending was around $10.9 billion. This level is around 5% the size of traditional bricks and mortar retail spending (excluding cafés, restaurants and takeaway food) for the year ended January 2012. In dollar terms, online spending grew by around 26 per cent year-on-year in February 2012.

Some interesting observed trends in February 2012 include an increase in spending in online florists and gift shops prior to Valentine’s Day and increased spending in online bookshops ahead of the start of the first term for universities.

In 2020, in the wake of the global Corona Virus Pandemic, there has been an influx of demand for Personal Protective Equipment. Many customers are opting to shop online at stores like Paragon Tools

Having already worked with a number of florists to help them create online stores, we know how much of a business generator they can be, but what are you doing to capture some of this consumer spending?
